- 1/4 cup sugar
- 1 packet instant yeast
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup warm milk
- 1 egg
- 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 2 cups cream cheese
- 1/3 cup brown sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 2 cups diced apples
- 1/2 cup oats
- 1/4 cup flour (for crumble)
- 1/4 cup butter (for crumble)
- 1/4 cup sugar (for crumble)
- 1/2 cup powdered sugar (for glaze)
- 2 tablespoons milk (for glaze)
- In a bowl, combine flour, sugar, yeast, and salt.
- Add warm milk, egg, and melted butter. Mix until a dough forms.
- Knead the dough for about 5 minutes until smooth.
- Let the dough rise for 1 hour until doubled in size.
- In another bowl, mix cream cheese, brown sugar, and vanilla extract.
- Punch down the dough and roll it out on a floured surface.
- Spread the cream cheese mixture over the dough, then top with diced apples.
- Roll the dough tightly and cut into slices.
- Prepare the crumble by mixing oats, flour, butter, and sugar.
- Top the slices with crumble and let them rise for another 30 minutes.
- Bake at 350°F (175°C) for 25-30 minutes until golden brown.
- Mix powdered sugar and milk for glaze and drizzle over the warm buns.
