Delicious and easy Apple Pie Bars that combine the classic flavor of apple pie into a convenient bar format, perfect for home cooks.

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 3 large apples, peeled and sliced
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1 egg (for egg wash)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large bowl, mix the flour, sugar, and salt.
  3. Cut in the butter until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
  4. Press 2/3 of the crumb mixture into the bottom of a greased 9×13 inch pan.
  5. In a separate bowl, toss the sliced apples with cinnamon and lemon juice.
  6. Spread the apple mixture evenly over the crust.
  7. Sprinkle the remaining crumb mixture over the apples.
  8. Brush the top with egg wash.
  9. Bake for 45-50 minutes or until golden brown.
  10. Let cool before slicing into bars.

Notes

  • For extra flavor, add a pinch of nutmeg to the apple filling.
