- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- ½ teaspoon baking soda
- ½ teaspoon salt
- ½ cup unsalted butter, melted
- 2 large eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- ½ cup buttermilk
- 2 tablespoons ground cinnamon
- ½ cup brown sugar
- 1 cup powdered sugar
- 2 tablespoons milk
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a muffin tin with cupcake liners.
- In a large bowl, mix together flour, sugar, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
- In another bowl, combine melted butter, eggs, vanilla extract, and buttermilk.
- Combine the wet and dry ingredients until just mixed.
- In a separate bowl, mix brown sugar and cinnamon.
- Fill each cupcake liner halfway with the batter, sprinkle cinnamon sugar mixture on top, then cover with additional batter.
- Bake for 18-20 minutes, then allow to cool.
- For the glaze, combine powdered sugar and milk until smooth.
- Drizzle the glaze over the cooled cupcakes and serve.
Notes
- For a richer flavor, add a pinch of nutmeg to the batter.
