  • 1 cup beef broth
  • 4 French rolls
  • 1 cup provolone cheese, shredded
  • 1 onion, sliced
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper

Instructions

  1. Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat. Add sliced onion and cook until caramelized.
  2. Season skirt steak with garlic powder and black pepper. Add to skillet and cook for about 4-5 minutes on each side for medium-rare.
  3. Remove steak and let it rest before slicing thinly.
  4. In the same skillet, add beef broth and bring to a simmer.
  5. Slice French rolls and toast them lightly. Layer sliced beef and caramelized onions on each roll, top with provolone cheese.
  6. Serve with the broth for dipping.
