  • 1/2 cup whole wheat flour
  • 1/2 cup unsweetened applesauce
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon nutmeg
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup diced apples
  • 1/4 cup walnuts, chopped

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a large bowl, mix together the rolled oats, whole wheat flour, brown sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, and salt.
  3. Add in the applesauce, egg, diced apples, and walnuts, stirring until well combined.
  4. Drop spoonfuls of the cookie dough onto the prepared baking sheet, spacing them about 2 inches apart.
  5. Bake for 12-15 minutes or until the edges are golden brown.
  6. Allow to cool for a few minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
